Well the season just keeps giving. Another trophy in the cabinet. This time for our Premier Men Seven’s team. Congratulations to the team & management for taking out the Canterbury Seven’s title in style.

After an unbeaten day one, where they took on Sydenham, New Brighton, Christchurch & Sumner, we moved into finals day on Sunday. First up was Southbridge in the Quarter-final, where we team really started to gel and secured a 43 – 5 Victory. Next up was Sumner in the Semi-Final, who presented a stiff challenge, but were dispatched with a 38 – 5 victory.

The Final would be against Marist Albion who had looked strong in their Semi-final against BDI. In the end the boys proved to be far to strong and had built nicely for the Final, winning 50 – 14.

Our defense proved to be the difference over the course of the weekend, only giving up four tries across all the finals games.

An internal award from the coaches was awarded to Jack Riley as player of the tournament. As the only forward on the field at times, he was immense in defense and surprisingly epic on attack. Well done Jack!

Congratulations also to the women’s team, who combined with Christchurch to make up a team for the weekend. They made it through to the semi-final as well.
